About Coopers Plumbing

Growing up in a house full of plumbers, our founder learned the trade before he was old enough to drive, and by 1999, he was ready to go out on his own with a truck, a license, and a pretty simple idea about how customers ought to be treated. That's still how Coopers Plumbing runs today. We've spent more than two decades working in homes across Asheville, and much of what keeps us busy is repeat customers and their neighbors who told their neighbors.

We know that something's been happening to the plumbing trade lately that most homeowners never hear about. Private equity firms have been buying up mom-and-pop shops all over the country, keeping the old names on the trucks while pricing decisions are made somewhere far away. We're still independent, still locally run, and still setting our own rates, which means nobody's pushing us to hit a sales quota on your water heater. If a repair will get you a few more years, we'll tell you that instead of quoting a replacement.

Our crew handles repiping, water heater work, sewer line repair, camera inspections, drain cleaning, plumbing repairs, and fixture installation, and we've added skilled hands as the work has grown. What hasn't changed is the part that matters most to us. You'll talk to people who know your house, explain what they found in simple language, and treat your place with the same care they'd want someone to show their own family.

A small excavator and a work truck are parked by a building, with a trench dug in the yard and caution tape surrounding the construction area.

Repiping Services

Copper and cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) have come a long way since galvanized piping was used in most of these old mountain houses. If you're seeing brown water at the tap or patching a new leak every few months, the pipes are telling you something. We'll take a look and honestly let you know whether our repiping services make sense right now or if you've got a few more years in them.

Water Heater Services

Cold groundwater around here makes a water heater work harder than it would in a flat, warm area, which shortens its lifespan. We install Rheem and Bradford White units, and we'll help you pick a size that fits how your household actually uses hot water, rather than just replacing what was there before. Regular flushing goes a long way, so ask us about water heater services if yours hasn't been checked in a while.

Sewer Line Services

The sewer line is the one part of your plumbing you never see and never think about, right up until you can smell it. Slow drains everywhere, gurgling toilets, and a patch of grass that stays wet all summer are the usual tip-offs that something's wrong out there. We handle sewer line services, from spot repairs to full replacements, and we'll show you what we find before making any recommendations.

Sewer Camera Inspections

Buying an older home in Asheville? Getting a camera down the sewer line before you close is one of the smartest few hundred dollars you'll ever spend. Our sewer camera inspections give you a clear picture of the pipe's condition, whether the cast iron is scaling shut, and whether roots have already found a crack to sneak through.

Drain Cleaning

Store-bought drain chemicals tend to eat away at your pipes while barely touching the actual clog. We'd rather clear the line mechanically and leave your plumbing better than we found it. Drain cleaning works best when you don't wait for a full blockage, so if the kitchen sink has been draining slower than it used to, that's a good time to call.

Plumbing Repairs

Most of what we fix started as something small that somebody hoped would go away. Loose fittings, worn washers, a pinhole in an old supply line—all of it gets worse and more expensive with time. Our plumbing repairs cover pipes, fixtures, leaks, and pressure problems, and we'll explain what went wrong in plain English so you know what you're paying for.

Plumbing Fixture Installation

The hard water in this part of North Carolina is rough on fixtures, and mineral buildup wears out valves and cartridges faster than the manufacturer ever intended. When you're ready for new hardware, our plumbing fixture installation service covers faucets, sinks, toilets, tubs, and showers, done with proper connections and shutoffs that'll actually turn when you need them to.

Emergency Plumbing

Water can do a lot of damage in a short time, so knowing where your main shutoff is before you need it puts you way ahead. Give us a call once the water's off, and we'll get moving on a diagnosis. Our emergency plumbing team handles burst pipes, major leaks, sewer backups, and water heaters that decide to fail on a bad night.
